Art of the Six Mountains
Mixed-media exhibition to highlight the nature of endangered coastal Douglas-fir ecosystem
The Cowichan Valley Arts Council and sixmountains.ca are collaborating on an exciting multi-media art show on the nature of the Six Mountains throughout the month of June.
But now is the time for artists to step forward and become part of this important event.
Artists from across Vancouver Island can participate, but their works should relate in same way to North Cowichan’s Six Mountains — Prevost, Sicker, Richards, Maple, Tzouhalem, and Stoney Hill.

The Six Mountains fall within the coastal Douglas-fir ecosystem, home to more species at risk than anywhere else in the province.
“En plein air” sessions are being held leading up to the art show as a way for artists to get out and explore the Six Mountains and share their passion with other artists.

The first such session occurred April 30 at Stoney Hill.
The next free session is May 11 along the lower Chemainus River near Mount Sicker.
